  • Partnership Letter to all families of OLMC and Saint Boniface

    February 20, 2014

Dear OLMC parishioners and School Families,

Working with the Catholic Schools Office and with the approval of Bishop Lawrence Persico, the decision has been made to form a partnership between Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and Saint Boniface School. We will be one school program in two separate buildings. This is not a merger; each of us will maintain our own identity.

Both schools will continue to operate a preschool as well as a kindergarten through fourth grade program with St. Boniface utilizing its multi-age approach to education and Our Lady of Mount Carmel retaining a traditional grade configuration. At the same time, all students in grades 5-8 will attend school at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. We will partner together in order to share resources and programs as well as teaching staff. We will work hard to make sure that our students on each campus will stay connected to their parish family. One principal will oversee both schools and help us to find creative ways to work together for the good of all our students. A new technology program, featuring the latest in iPad resources will be featured in both building. Student in each school will benefit from increased course offerings including foreign language. There will be many other benefits, including more activities and athletic teams as opportunities for our children.

We hope that you will join with us in seeing this as a win-win situation for both Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Saint Boniface schools. By working together we can assure that we are both growing and continuing to bring the Good News to our students and our families. There are still many detail to be worked out—and lots of opportunities for many people to be involved in the planning and execution of the practical details that will combine our programs. Both of us are committed to working with each other to ensure the best spiritual and educational program for our students.

Both parish communities will be part of the future being forged by the diocesan strategic plan and both Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Saint Boniface schools will keep alive the tradition of excellence and spiritual formation for many years to come! Please continue to pray for our parishes, our schools and our children.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for Us!                                                                Saint Boniface, pray for us!
